Postponing foreclosure

"The Obama administration moved quickly to free up federal funds to help victims of Hurricane Sandy. On Tuesday, October 30, 2012 in Washington, the U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan issued a Press Release announcing that HUD was going to speed federal disaster assistance to the State of New York and provide support to homeowners and low-income renters forced from their homes due to Hurricane Sandy.

Also on Tuesday President Barack Obama declared the counties of Queens, New York, Bronx, Kings, Nassau, Richmond and Suffolk as disaster areas. The declaration opens the door for HUD to offer foreclosure relief and other assistance to some of the families who reside in these counties."

The banks don't need to bother to foreclose on homes that are gone or ruined--it certainly is not because they will work with people
