More waste

"As part of the $25 billion national mortgage settlement, the Illinois attorney general's office this year has awarded grants totaling more than $15 million to various groups that offer legal assistance to Illinois consumers affected by the housing crisis."

A perfect example of how the settlement funds are never going to go to help a single American family.  We've gone down the legal route, no attorney can help you against the banks.  The banks have the power.  The only way any of the money for mortgage assistance would be put to good use is if it was used to refinance/modify a homeowner away from the big banks.
