As we went along and the paper work became more involved Mark had me doing a lot of the work and it was a lot of work for twelve properties. Several foreclosures dates got scheduled and then got cancelled and I had to believe if nothing else, the process, was holding the banks at bay. Dennis and I both felt the inevitable would eventually happen as the banks were basically backing off but they weren’t acknowledging the paper work Mark was sure would work. At one point Mark had me create and issue a bond that was supposed to be tied to a treasury account with my social security number on it. This bond would supposedly pay off the debt. One copy was sent to the bank and one copy to the Internal Revenue Service who was supposed to know how to handle it. Now here is where I was going “really, can you pull a rabbit out of your hat too?” Everything had to be done a certain way, with certain markings, and then had to be mailed a certain way. This is when I learned that the U.S. Postal Service is also not run by the government. It is an independent agency of the United States Government.
