In January 2008 there were a lot of rumblings about bigger financial problems coming down the line from Wall Street and by March we were in the shit storm of the financial meltdown. I recall watching the news and couldn’t believe companies that had been around forever where bankrupt. When Bear Sterns was “rescued” by JP Morgan Chase I was blown away. What was happening to our financial system, systems we trusted? When Lehman Brothers was next to go and the Fed’s actually let it go down I thought holy shit. Then AIG was announced and it was determined they were too big to fail. For a person not savvy on financial markets none of it made sense to me. I also had no clue on the impact it would have on my life and all American’s. At that time we owned twelve properties, all with mortgages on them.
